Super Dimensional Fortress Macross: The First

Following a mysterious crash landing of an extraterrestrial spacecraft on Earth, the discovery of sentient life beyond our planet impels humanity to put aside their nationalistic tendencies, conflicting interests, and cultural differences to unite under the banner of the United Nations, fearing the possibility of an impending threat from space. The newly formed UN forces make the decision to repurpose the alien craft, dubbing it SDF-1 Macross. However, tragedy strikes on the day of its maiden voyage, as a group of spaceships belonging to Zentradi, an alien race, descend on Earth. Acting on its own, the Macross destroys the incoming squadron, which sparks an intergalactic war.
As a result, the Macross attempts to flee by launching itself into the orbit of the Moon. It turns out that the Macross, along with the inhabited city within it, has been teleported to the far reaches of space. Trapped in this unknown realm are the free-spirited acrobatic pilot Hikaru Ichijou and aspiring idol Minmay Lynn, both of whom are accompanied by Misa Hayase, the Macross’s bridge officer. Together, they embark on an epic journey marked by grief and drama, making their way back to Earth while facing the cruelties of war.
